Discovered in 1997 by Jacoby and Fullton.

Hiding in the multitude of stars of globular cluster NGC 6441, planetary nebula JaFu 2 was not discovered until 1997, when Jacoby and Fullton found it together with another globular cluster planetary, JaFu 1 in Palomar 6 (Jacoby et.al. 1997). It is one of only four known planetary nebulae which are probably members of globular clusters.

The left image is an H-alpha image of the planetary nebula JaFu 2 taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. The right image was obtained from the same data after substracting the stars. Discovered by Jacoby and Fullton in 1997 (Jacoby et.al. 1997).
