VW Karmann Ghia

These beautiful cars were produced as "VW Typ I" and "Type III" from the 1950s to 1974, based on and along with the VW Beegle. While most of the car was produced by VW, the body was made by the Karmann GmbH (who also produced the Beegle Convertible (Cabriolet), and now makes the Golf Convertible, among others).

I hope to get a decent image of my car here in the near future. This car was eventually killed by the (then West-) German government as they forbid and abandoned leaded normal gas in the late 1980s.

In the US, especially in its more dry part (e.g., the southwest), these cars are still present, and I saw some very nice specimen during my Arizona vacations in 1996.
