Saturn Nebula (NGC 7009)

Other NOAO images of the Saturn Nebula (NGC 7009) This object is commonly known as the Saturn Nebula, due to the apparent "ring" around the main body of the nebula.

Shape: main disc and extending rays that resemble Saturn.

Distance: approx. 1,400 light years

Location: Aquarius constellation

Abundances/Description: The central star is a bluish dwarf with a temperature of about 55,000K
