NGC 7027
This image was taken in the infrared at the WIYN Observatory by Margaret
Meixner and Angela Speck. NCG 7027 is the remains of a sun like star. Much
of the mass was ejected, exposing it's hot core. The red is molecular
Hydrogen, the green is iron, and the blue is ionized Hydrogen.
Shape: elliptical rings with a bright interior.
Distance: approx. 3,000 light years from Earth
Location: Constellation Cygnus
RA: 21 07 01.59 DEC: +42 14 10.2
Size: 0.3' x 0.2'
Abundances/Description: concentric rings, high surface brightness.
Discoverer: Jean Marie Edouard Stephan (1878), observed by Thomas William Webb (1879)
