This dwarf spheroidal galaxy, another satellite of the
Andromeda Galaxy M31, has been found by T.E. Armandroff,
J.E. Davies, and G.H. Jacoby of NOA0
(Armandroff et.al. 1998, also press
release NOAO 99-01),
together with And VI.
It was first found by microdensiometry of POSS plates and then verified by
images with KPNO telescopes. The image in this page was taken with the 4-m
telescope on Kitt Peak.
