Discovered by Terzan in 1968.
This globular was discovered by Terzan in 1968 when surveying the Milky Way
central region (Terzan 1968). Accidentally, it was
rediscovered by the same author, Terzan, in a second survey in 1971 without
immediately noting its identity (Terzan 1971).
