aj96b201.jpg Amateur astronomer Alexander Jäger from Konstanz obtained this color image of Comet Hyakutake C/1996B2 in the night of March 23-24, 1996, at 0:58 CET (local time; 23:58 UT) from a dark location the "Schwäbische Alb" (South Germany).

This image was taken with a 300 mm f/2.8 telephoto lens, and exposed 5 minutes on Kodak Ektachrome Panther 1600X film. It was guided on the comet's head.
