Notes:

  • Cam OB1: Source of runaway star Alpha Cam.
  • Per OB2: Source of runaway star Xi Per.
  • Ori OB1: Contains Trapezium, NGC 1981 and Collinder 70 clusters, and among others, the bright stars Theta, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda, Sigma and Upsilon Orionis. Source of runaway stars AE Aur, Mu Col, 53 Ari.
  • Car OB2: Contains clusters NGC 3572, Tr 18, Hogg 10 and Hogg 11.
  • Sco-Cen: Nearest OB Ass.; extends from Sco to Cru. Includes Alpha and Beta Crucis, Beta and Delta Centauri, and many other bright stars.
  • Sco OB2: Part of Sco-Cen association; source of runaway star Zeta Oph.
  • Cyg OB2: Star No. 12 (after R.M. Humphrey 1978) is visually one of the brightest stars at absolute mag -9.9, and would shine at first magnitude if not absorption dimmed it to mag 11.5.
