Discovered by William Herschel on August 30, 1786.
Globular Cluster NGC 6304 was discovered by William Herschel in 1786 and
cataloged by him as H I.147.
The image in this page is an IR image obtained within the
Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS).
This image is from the 2MASS Atlas. It is a false-color image, with colors
representing different IR bands: J band (1.2 micron) is represented blue, H (1.6
micron) green, and Ks light (2.2 micron) red.
