Discovered by S. Djorgovski in September 1986.
Globular cluster Djorg 2, or Djorgovski 2, was discovered by S. Djorgovski
when examining suspicious IRAS Point Sources with CCD photography with the
CTIO 1.5-m telescope in September 1986, together with two other obscured
globular clusters, Djorg 1, and Djorg 3; Djorg 3
later turned out to be identical with NGC 6540
(Djorgovski 1987).
